In order to harness the maximum benefit of increased availability of water and to improve the crop productivity, Systematic rice and wheat intensification, SRI&SWI was introduced in the project villages. To start with this new initiative, farmers training and exposure visit was organized. The trainings and exposures were focused on conceptual framework regarding the quantity of seed, sowing method, weed and water management. Till date 220 bighas of land have been brought under SRI and SWI sowing methodology. The intervention includes provision of better seed, onsite support for seed treatment and free supply of equipment such as weeder and marker.
